Bro. Demetirus Scott

Nu Phi Chapter Basileus

Demetrius Scott is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), psychotherapist, educator, and district-level administrator with more than 30 years of experience in education, behavioral support, and counseling services. He is a proud graduate of Texas Southern University, where he earned his academic foundation before obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Administration of Justice and a Master of Education in Counselor Education. His professional focus has centered on learner-centered instructional practices and client-centered counseling, with an emphasis on promoting student achievement, emotional wellness, personal growth, and cultural responsiveness. He is certified in Special Education and School Counseling (Pre-K–12), holds a Principal Certification (EC–12), and is a Level 1 Certified Trauma Practitioner. He specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and is the founder and owner of Scott and Associates Counseling and Behavior Services, where he provides counseling and behavioral support to youth, families, and adults.

Throughout his career, Mr. Scott has served in multiple educational and counseling roles, including Behavior Support Services teacher assistant and certified special education instructor at alternative behavior campuses within the Houston Independent School District, youth counselor with Harris County, and special education instructor at an alternative campus in Alief ISD. He has also served as an eighth-grade counselor, Dean of Students in HISD, and Lead Counselor in the Pasadena Independent School District. Currently, he serves as a district-level administrator and member of the Behavior Response Team (BRT), supporting ten campuses from elementary through secondary levels. In this role, he provides professional development, develops Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and safety plans, and utilizes data-driven, evidence-based practices to improve student outcomes and campus safety.

Mr. Scott is also a dedicated leader in Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., where he currently serves as the Basileus (Chapter President) and leader of the Nu Phi Chapter. He was initiated into the Tau Epsilon Chapter on February 19, 1993, and is proudly known by his Que name, “Meatbone,” and his line name, “Sluggo’s First Six to Burn the Midnight Oil.” Since joining the Nu Phi Chapter in 2019, he has served in several key leadership roles, including Keeper of Records and Seal (2020–2022), Vice Basileus (2023–2025), and Basileus (2026–present). In recognition of his outstanding leadership and service, he received the Basileus Award from the Nu Phi Chapter in November 2022.

Mr. Scott remains committed to empowering youth, strengthening families, and supporting schools through compassionate counseling, effective leadership, and evidence-based behavioral interventions, while continuing to serve his community through professional practice and fraternal leadership.
